Barcelona extended their winning streak across all competitions to seven consecutive matches with a commanding 5-2 victory over Crvena zvezda in the Champions League. Leading La Liga by nine points, Hansi Flick’s side entered Belgrade in high spirits, determined to keep their momentum going.
The Catalan giants wasted no time, with center-back Iñigo Martinez scoring in the opening minutes, heading in Raphinha’s precision free-kick past Crvena zvezda’s goalkeeper Marko Ilic. However, Crvena zvezda’s Silas Mvumpa leveled the score just 14 minutes later, breaking past Barcelona's defense and chipping a finish over Inaki Peña.
Barça responded swiftly. Robert Lewandowski, continuing his prolific form, capitalized on Raphinha’s rebounded shot to tap in, restoring the visitors’ lead just before halftime. Lewandowski added his second of the evening early in the second half, connecting with Jules Koundé’s cross to bring his Champions League goal count to 99.
Only minutes later, Raphinha netted his own goal with a clean shot into the bottom corner, courtesy of another Koundé cross. The Frenchman was unstoppable, also assisting Fermin Lopez for Barcelona’s fifth, sealing a comfortable lead.
While Crvena zvezda managed a late consolation goal from Milson in the 84th minute, the result was never in doubt, with Barça claiming their third successive league phase victory and moving to sixth in the group table.
Next up for Barcelona is La Liga action against Real Sociedad and Celta Vigo before a return to the Champions League, where they will face the unbeaten Ligue 1 side Brest in three weeks.
