Wojciech Szczesny has confirmed that he is in advanced talks to join FC Barcelona, marking a sensational return to competitive football after retirement. The Polish goalkeeper told Sport:
"Barça is one of the best clubs in the world… and I’m considering it, we are in talks."
Szczesny further emphasized that it would be disrespectful not to consider such a prestigious offer.

Barcelona has reportedly agreed a deal with Szczesny, who will sign a one-year contract. The veteran goalkeeper is set to undergo a medical in Spain in the coming days. Szczesny, accepting to come out of retirement, will replace the injured Marc-André ter Stegen, who is out for up to 8 months.
Szczesny is keen to play, setting one condition:
"He does not want to be a substitute," as per Catalunya Radio.
